Seismic Skate Systems releases the new 59mm Rippler wheel, in 4 color-coded durometers
Boulder, CO - The first new wheel shape to come out of the Seismic factory this year is aptly named the Rippler, since it sends waves of surprise and curiosity throughout the Longboard community. Why a 59mm offering from a brand best known for big wheels? "Since 2007 we've felt that something was missing from the menu of longboard and carving wheels: a shape under 60mm with classic grip-oriented lip profiles," says Dan Gesmer, chief mastermind behind the Seismic brand. "It's an unbeatable all-around wheel for mini cruisers, retro pool/park setups, and filmer boards!," he added. The 59mm x 43mm wheel is molded using the company's elite race-performance "Black Ops" urethane, in harder duros than other Seismic shapes to match its small footprint. "Sometimes smaller is better. The Rippler has been planned for about two years, and now it's finally here!" The Rippler comes in 82A translucent orange, 86A translucent blue, 90A translucent purple, and 94A translucent black "smoke". Like all Seismic wheels, decks and trucks, it's available from finer Skate stores and online at Geoskate.com.

Introducing Holesom Longboards. From the hills of Laguna Beach with shapes by LBL and made from the freshest hemp, bamboo and holes on the planet. Composition: Bamboo cultivated specifically for our deck is milled to three thicknesses and has a lively, springy feel. Hemp tempers the energy of the bamboo, replaces the need for fiberglass for a greener product, and is alternately laid with the bamboo (11 layers bamboo and hemp) in our proprietary resin/epoxy. Shape/Specs: LBL (Longboard Larry) handcrafted the shape (template, camber and concave) and a mold and tooling was developed to capture it exactly. 40 inch bi-directional with primary and alternate truck mounting holes for flex/trick convertability. Holes: Holes reduce weight and add a locked-in feel to the feet during carves and slides. Suggested set-up for free-style, sliding and garages: O’tang Durians or Retro Free-Rides on Randal 180’s; Suggested set-up for hill carving: BigZigs or In Heats on Holey Trucks. Availability: Release expected mid-November, ’09 on holesom.com, longboardlarry.com, or your favorite on-line shop.
