Thanks!!! That's exactly what I needed to hear right now. I'm about to buy new wrist guards and I've been very hesitant to pay like two or three times what regular wrist guards cost. But an old school vert skater that run a web show where I live wri…
Wrist guards represent no road rash on the palms for me...my recent encounter would have gone much better if I would have had full gear on you can see my pics on my profile...no elbow pads left me realing for days. But as far as wrist guards go I am…
I've got a broken wrist right now. Broke it @ the Outlaw skate jam. I let my guard down, took off my wrist guards and went to "warmup" for the hybrid slalom race. I took a hard fall and broke my radius in 3 places @ the wrist.
I'm pretty sure if I h…
wear them if your wrist hurt easy..... i wait till i've jammed it to wear mine. ALSO take the piece of plastic out of the back it give you more flex wich is better. trust me it is. the palm piece is the key to protecting the wrist....
i broke a wrist a few years back and i pretty sure it could have been avoided if i was wearing guards.I swear by them. Now if they could only invent something that would protect your collar bone.I broke that last week cycling into work.OUCH!
I actually have pretty good short and long term disability plans with work... and the 3 weeks I had off with the broken elbow this summer was 'nice' to use... But if I didn't have the coverage I'd been at work at the desk banging it out... Still mis…
I wear wrist guards and have since I started skating last year after I got tired of the bruises on my palms. I fall a lot and they absorb the impact and help prevent injury. I'm pretty good at falling, and fall from high points in the bowls sometime…
Wow...
Same guy that told me I'd want some wrist guards when we talked about me getting back into skating at 40+ told me the exact same thing about Pro Designed gear.
He lives out near DC in Northern Va., and said he bought Pro-Designed pads and w…
I fall.
A LOT!
My wrist were always sprained, even though I always wear wrist guards. I even break the splints. Triple8, TSG, ProTec, 187, it didn't matter what brand, the splints never lasted more than 2-3 months before I'd fall & break one.
Then…
My crash was MINOR in the extreme. Came down a ramp and my 'manual' got out of control. Deboarded to run rather than fall, and couldn't quite sprint it out. Getting old and slow I guess! So down I went, knees to shoulder to chin! and while going dow…
Dan, I also have experienced a radius injury. My elbow was dislocated and the radial head was shattered in 20+ pieces. It happened when I was slalom racing, fell and my elbow was caught between the ground and the road.
I was wearing wrist braces an…
I've never worn them... but when I started skateboarding again I was told I'd want to get some... I'm curious about them...
Do they simply support and stabilize the wrist? Or do they absorb any percentage of the blow? I can see how the 'palm' piece…
