Started skating when my mom bought a crapy plastic board for my birthday around 1976 got a "good one" Simms within the year because, I found that I loved skateboarding. I played Jr high and High school football as a running back and skating helped me with my body/balance control. I moved from Arizona to Loveland Colorado durring my High School years.I had a cool group of friends that I skated with we had a couple of 1/4 pipe ramps + some cool spots to skate. I found out that there was a new skatepark in Boulder Colorado ( about 60 miles away) so My friends and I went and from then on I have been in love with pools. That pool was awesome 12' deep keyhole with about 2' vert. I pretty much lived there and did enter numorouse contests and did well enough to catch the eye of Richard Christiansen. A local shop owner who was starting a team. I was lucky enough to be asked to be on it. It was so cool we got free boards and anything else we needed for skating. I did a few video clips for Ocean Pacific , That I happen to see one when I moved back to Arizona @ a Millers Outpost (that was cool)..Durring that time I met some really cool people there is one that we used to call "body slam Joe", because this guy would slam all the time trying crazy tricks. He would never bail just stay on until he slammed.. Well, that guy was Joe Johnson (Vision sponsored skater back in the 90's). I graduated from High School and moved back to Arizona for college. I slowed down skating just because I did not have any friends there that skated. But in the late 80's Early 90's I built a half pipe @ my mom's ranch and started to make a comeback and enterd a few contests in Tempe and Scottsdale, Az. Did make the finals in the Scotsdale (Bearcover) contest but that was it. And shortly after that I tore my Crutiate ligaments in my left knee, so I quit doing contests. But I have drained my own house backyard pool and buit a mini 1/2 pipe in my back yard. Probably why my 1st wife left me. Ha.Ha. I still skate and I have an 18yr old son who skates parks and is very good. Once a skater always a skater. - The past 5 years I raced Mini Sprint race cars all over Arizona but the cost got intense so I have retired from that and now I am wanting to focus more on skating and helping the younger generation enjoy the "Art" and joy of skateboarding...
